BFA Hackathon Demo Day Instructions & Top 6 Shortlisted Teams

Hello Hackers,

Hope you had fun putting together your best entry. We are having demo day on 02/24/2024 at 4pm (GMT+1). Our shortlisted 6 teams will present their solutions to our esteemed judges and the winners will be selected by the aggregate scores from the judges.

Attending the demo day is NOT restricted to the shortlisted project, so you are all encouraged to attend the demo day.

Here are instructions you need to carefully read.

Important Note: For the shortlisted projects, please make sure to sign into zoom with your official name to ease verification.

Please endeavor to join the meeting at least 3 minutes before time.

Preparation for Demo Day Event

For the demo day, each shortlisted team/project will have roughly 5 minutes to showcase their projects and have our judges ask questions. Your project will be judged based on the following:

  1. Innovation
  2. Impact
  3. Technical complexity, and
  4. Clarity of presentation.

Afterwards we will get the judges decision (it may require some additional time for them to deliberate), then we will get our top two winners for the general prize and the Yabatech affiliate winner. 

As per the rules of the hackathon prizes: One of the prizes goes to our participants affliated with our collaborator Yaba College of Technology affliates. If any Yaba College of Technology affliates were to win any of the top 2 prizes, then the next best submission from Yaba College of Technology takes the YABATECH prize. If there are no other submissions from YabaTech, the prize goes to the other participant.

What do you need fo the demo day:

  • You need to bring a A game and presentation.
  • You have less than 5 minute to make your case for the prizes.
  • Choose carefully what you want to present and how you present it.
  • Clarity is super important.
  • The judges have seen your video submission before hand so prepare for questions on your design and impact and use cases that you have in mind.
